ART

I seek in my art to bring what I have sensed and experienced, my memories, my understanding and wisdom, into my paintings; to create so that the viewer can touch with their eyes what I have come to know.

My art is a deeply relational practice. In my work I’m intent on sharing the story of what I see and what I have come to know and to love. And I believe that whatever we love, whatever we have come to know and whatever moves us is enough. It is more than just enough, it is sacred, it is what we can do in this world, what we can build on, and what we can become. Each of my works of art becomes an altar, and I refer to my studio walls as altar walls.

The act of entering into an intentional creative process is based upon the belief in initiation. Once the process is chosen, the initiation begins.

“Initiation is the process by which we turn from our natural inclination to remain unconscious and decide that, whatever it takes-suffering, striving, enduring- we will pursue conscious union with the deeper mind, the wild self”
